Parting powder

Parting powder serves as a replacement for the former lycopodium. Parting powder is a fine powder separating agent based on hydrophobated calcium carbonate.

Application

Parting powder is used in mould making and modelling for the clean separation of moulds and models, especially for natural sand, OBB Sand and synthetic sand. Parting powder allows a clean separation of the two mould halves and a clean separation of the model when lifting from the sand mould.

 

Processing

Pour parting powder into porous sacks (e.g. linen bags) and dust them onto the model plate and the mould. By shaking the sachet, a uniform and fine layer of the parting powder is obtained, which enables a good shaping.
